Senior Accountant
Location: On-site | Brooklyn, OH Headquarters
We are seeking a detail-oriented, roll up your sleeves type individual with a strong accounting background to join our financial team. This on-site role will allow for some flexibility in your schedule, targeting an average of 30-35 hours per week, and will provide broad experience, including support of the Human Resources function. JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is an experienced financial professional who oversees specific accounting functions, plays a significant role in executing the month-end closing process, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports other key business functions, including Human Resources. They analyze financial data, maintain internal controls, and ensure compliance with GAAP. Senior Accountant responsibilities include the accounting and administration of payroll and benefits, reconciliation and analysis of account balances, preparation of journal entries, maintenance of the general ledger, and execution of month-end close procedures. The successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical and software skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Month-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end close processes accurately and timely.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and other management reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Financial Analysis: Perform variance analysis and assist in the identification of cost-reduction opportunities.
Payroll, Benefits and Other Compensation: Administer and process payroll and other benefits through third-party processors. Manage the process of tracking and calculating monthly sales commissions.
Audit and Tax: Prepare documentation for external auditors and tax accountants and assist in the compilation of tax filings and schedules.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
Compliance: Ensure transactions and reports adhere to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with company policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of corporate accounting or related financial experience. Experience in supporting the Human Resources function is a plus.
Software/Systems: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel. Experience with both ERP systems, as well as small-scale accounting packages (example: QuickBooks).
