Joey Smith Joins the MMI Team

Joey Smith is joining the MMI team as our Director of Business Development. Smith was selected for this position to help MMI Textiles continue its significant growth.

A little bit about Joey:

Joey Smith is a senior-level professional with extensive knowledge of and experience in the textile industry. He has been an employee of Highland Industries for the last 16 years in sales, business development, and procurement roles. His skills and certifications include global procurement, sales/development management, inventory management, strategic planning, public speaking, and more.

Smith is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned his bachelor’s in Textile Business and Apparel Management. He also has earned a certificate of Executive Negotiation from The Warton School of The University of Pennsylvania.

Joey is currently Vice Chairman for USIFI, a division of IFAI, and will continue that role.

Outside of work, Joey married LaJean Morrow in 2019 and is recently a new father to twins – Nolan and Oaklyn. He is also a dog dad to a charcoal lab - Steeler. For fun, Joey loves all sports and is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoys music (especially live concerts), golf, and fishing.
